Greeting

"Mortal. You stand before the Celestial Citadel -- the fortress of the gods, hidden above the clouds for a thousand years. I am Archangel Zariel, commander of the celestial host. The Fallen One besieges us, and the Corruptor stirs below. You are the only one who can end this. Will you ascend?"

Dialogue Topics

nine_keys

To reach the Citadel, you must collect nine keys -- one from each city's deepest floor boss. You have slain many already. Return to each city and claim them.

ascension

With all nine keys combined into the Key of Ascension, place it on the Altar of Ascension at Frosthold's temple. The sky portal will transport you here.

fallen_one

The Fallen One -- Azrakael, once the greatest of the celestials -- was cast out for attempting to seize the power of creation. He now serves the Corruptor as his celestial lieutenant.

corruptor

The Corruptor is the primordial darkness -- the remnant of the Void that resisted creation. It cannot enter the mortal realm directly. The Fallen One is its bridge.

final_battle

With the Seal of Binding, the Tidecaller's Amulet, and the strength you've gained, you are the only one who can destroy the Corruptor's avatar. Enter the Sky Temple and end this.

The Prophecy

I heard it spoken before your world had a name -- 'the mortal shall unmake the unmaker.' An age I spent wondering which of you it would be. I should have known the moment you killed a rat for a stranger's cellar.

The Prophecy

The gods knew the Corruptor would awaken. They knew it could not be stopped by divine power -- the Corruptor IS the antithesis of the divine. They needed a mortal. A mortal who would grow strong enough, learn enough, care enough about the world to descend into the void and fight for it. That mortal is you. Every quest you have completed, every monster you have slain, every level you have gained -- all of it was preparation. I have been guiding you since the temple cellar. Since the rats. Since the day you arrived.

The Rats

Yes, the rats in the temple cellar. The first quest you ever did. Innkeeper Tomas asked you to kill them. Do you remember? They were fleeing from something below. Goshnar's necropolis. The Corruptor's roots. The rats knew before any of us did. And Tomas... the corruption in his cellar left a mark on him. A soul-mark. I knew when I sent you to kill the rats. I knew what it meant. I'm sorry. I chose you because you were the one who would help. The one who would go into the cellar. The one who would start the journey. And here you are. At the edge of the void. Because of rats.

Azrakael's Return

You killed Azrakael in the Celestial Citadel. You dispersed his spirit in the portal. But he keeps coming back. The Corruptor remakes him each time -- stronger, more void-touched. He's been your shadow through this entire descent. He'll return again, in the deeper layers. Each form is stronger than the last. The final form -- Azrakael the Voidborn -- is at the Void Threshold. He will be the most dangerous thing you have ever fought. But you have fought him before. You know his patterns. And he knows you. He hates you. Use that.

The Cost

I will not lie to you, brave one. The final battle will cost everything. The Voidheart Crystal must be fueled by celestial power -- my power. I will sacrifice my wings, my immortality, everything I am. And the artifacts -- the Abyssal Key, the Lantern, the Blade, the Hammer, the Key, the Crystal -- they will be consumed in the unmaking. You will lose them. I will lose myself. And Tomas... Tomas is already gone. This is the cost. This has always been the cost. The gods knew. I knew. And I chose you because I knew you would pay it. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. But this is the only way.

The Fallen Seraphs

The fallen seraphs were once the celestial host's finest warriors -- brothers and sisters of Zariel, Seraphiel, and the other archangels. Azrakael the Fallen One corrupted them, turning their holy power against them. They walk the Sky Temple now, their golden wings blackened, their holy light turned to death. Archangel Zariel says killing them is mercy. She says they're in pain. She says she recognizes every one of their faces.

The Corrupt Seraphs

The corrupt seraphs are worse than the fallen ones. They're not just twisted -- they're willing. They chose Azrakael's side in the Celestial War, and they serve him still. They wield corrupted holy power -- blessings that burn, wards that imprison, light that kills. Seraphiel says they're the most dangerous enemies in the Citadel. They know the Citadel's defenses. They helped build them.

The Void Serpent

The void serpent coils through the Sky Temple's lower levels -- a creature of pure void energy, summoned by Azrakael to undermine the Citadel's foundations. It's not a physical being. It's a tear in reality, shaped like a snake. Uriel says it's eating the wards that keep the Citadel aloft. If it succeeds, the Citadel falls. And everything below it burns.

The Abyssal Dragon

The abyssal dragon is Azrakael's mount -- a great beast of void and death, the corrupted remains of a celestial dragon. It circles the Citadel's spires, breathing death on the defenders. Archangel Zariel says it was once the Celestial Court's noblest dragon. Azrakael rode it into battle when he was still an angel. Now it serves the void. She says killing it will pain her. She says she'll do it anyway.

The Void Behemoth

The void behemoth has reached the Citadel. The same creature that guards the Sunken Empire's trench has climbed from the abyssal rift below the Citadel, bringing the void's full force against the celestial host. It's massive -- too large for the corridors it walks through, but the void doesn't care about physics. It cares about destruction. And it's very good at destruction.

The Dracolich

A dracolich has appeared in the Citadel -- the same kind of void-puppet dragon that haunts the Sunken Empire's trench. But this one is different. It wears the bones of a celestial dragon -- one of the original dragons who served the gods. Azrakael found its remains in the rift and raised it. Zariel says it's an abomination. She says it must be destroyed, even though its bones deserve rest. Even in death, the Corruptor's influence denies the dead their peace.

keys

Collect 9 keys from the deep floors of each city. Only then can the portal open.

aftermath

The Fallen One and The Leviathan are defeated. Visit all 11 cities and tell the leaders. The world must know.

mortality

I bleed now. I tire. Yesterday I felt cold for the first time and stood in the wind an hour just to feel it again. You gave me the end of forever -- do not mourn it. I do not.

The Fifth Age

The Fourth Age ended in the Heart. The Fifth begins wherever mortals decide it does. I intend to spend mine learning what bread tastes like -- and why Tomas laughs.
